Jillian is delighted to announce that she will be singing the title role in a new opera The Maiden Stone by Aberdeen University composition student Joe Stollery. The work will form part of a year of celebration of the 40th Anniversary of the Baillies of Bennachie and will be promoted by Sound Festival, Scotland’s festival of New Music.
Joe’s opera is based on the legend of the Maiden Stone, an intricately carved Pictish standing stone of pink granite which is located near the Chapel of Garioch, Aberdeenshire. More information about the project can be found here.
